In an unlikely turn of events, Queen Elizabeth  has been the longest serving Monarch after Queen Victoria. During the 20th Century, the world watched monarchies in Europe fail to survive. There have been several attacks on the British Monarchy in the past century, but the Royal House has endured through the trials, and proved to the world that they are stronger than they have ever been.
